Black Widow

Beware of the black widow...

I literally just finished drawing this. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I could have done more detail, but I felt that may have made it look overworked.

I am deadly afraid of spiders, however I must admit to loving the black widow. Mostly I just love how it is the female who is the dominant sex. In addition --I have always been a huge fan of black&white films from the 20's, 30's, 40's and early 50's -- I wished for this to incorporate the notion of femme fetale from the film noirs I love such as 'The Big Sleep'.

I missed using my inks and chinagraph pencil.
